Event details

The exhibition is dedicated to the creation of a center for the education of the Polish Army’s healthcare service in Ujazdów, Warsaw. Based on collections held by the Main Medical Library, it showcases the history of military medicine that began in the 18th century. At that time, military barracks were established in the Ujazdów Castle, where a military hospital was also set up. From 1810, there was a central military medical facility known as the Ujazdów Hospital, the Main Military Hospital of the Polish Army in Ujazdów, the General Hospital in Ujazdów, or simply Ujazdów.

Practical informations

We will begin at 6:00 pm with a lecture by Dr. M. Turos “... From a bottle of ether to a complex apparatus, i.e. with anesthesiology for almost two centuries“. We also invite you to a show of a reconstruction group with a mobile Dressing Station.
