The date 2024-05-18, exactly marks the 80th anniversary of the creation of the most extraordinary Polish song – Red poppies on Monte Cassino,’ written by Feliks Konarski (Red-Ren) during the Battle of Monte Cassino. ‘I was writing feverishly, quickly... As if I wanted to add strength and blood with these few verses...’ he recalled. The song gained the status of informal anthem of a free Poland. People stood to attention when it was performed. Therefore, during the Night of Museums in Białołęka, we will dedicate ourselves to poppies. They will bloom in the Square on Ceramiczna Street.
Practical information:In Galeria Północna, a 200-person choir along with the AVE Choir (celebrating its 85th anniversary), musicians from the National Philharmonic, and the audience will perform the song three times – in different styles.
