Event details:

The exhibition ‘Play, Gypsies! Gypsy Music from Liszt to Hungarian Cultural Heritage from the Collections of the Ethnographic Museum in Budapest’ presents the history of Gypsy music in areas inhabited by Hungarians. It shows an interesting process whereby, thanks to Gypsy musicians, Hungarian national culture has included so-called Hungarian melodies and czardas in its canon. During the vernissage, visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the exhibition curators and listen to recordings featuring popular performers such as the Rajkó Zenekar ensemble.

Practical information:

Entrance to the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre Warsaw is located at the Witold Rowicki passage, behind the former Sesame building, near the Świętokrzyska metro station.
